Maybe they dont believe this new Nintendo console is actually the start of the next Gen. If the rumors are true that its on par/slightly better than the 360 and PS3 than I would agree with that as well. They may feel that the PS3 and 360 is enough competition for the new Nintendo console.

They werent competition for the Wii because they were going after different demographics, but if the rumors of the new console are to be believed than it seems that Nintendo is trying to make a console very similar whats available in the HD twins. And they would be competition because they would be going after than same demographic he HD twins are, they will just be quite a few million consoles behind.
