I'm not saying it can't sell well. It's just that you used the sales of the European market to defend the stripping down of a console as a good thing because it's sales were good. I was pointing out that you can't give all the credit to a stripped down console when it sells decent throughout the Christmas season. That and the fact that before the shift to the 40gig there weren't that many good games to warrant a purchase like there are now. I expect Europeans to purchase the playstation brand regardless, but I can't see how removing features and clearancing any alternative is in anyway good for the consumer. Good for sales maybe, but good for gamers... not really.
