Why Has Blu-ray Failed to Catch Hold?

The only reason I have Bluray player is it was a wedding gift a couple years back. I netflix Blurays all the time, but rarely spend the money to buy one, due to the higher prices. It's certainly easy to see why some movies are better on bluray (scifi, some action movies, documentaries) but most movies, the slightly higher resolution just doesn't add to the enjoyment, therefore, to alot of people, is not worth the investment, even if walmart sells em for $70, you can get a DVD player for $30.
