I definitely prefer Japanese styled games.  But I do like some Western ones - just not wRPGs and FPSs.  I like Little Big Planet, Uncharted, Prince of Persia, and Tomb Raider for example.  The FPS genre is just becoming too generic by popular demand where it seems that you play one and play them all.

I agree with Wagram about wRPGs.  I find alot of cliches that people don't seem to point out (defending the empire against an alien race, LOTR / Star Wars / Star Trek themes and character classes, shallow moral choices, etc.)  Even though Japanese games have their cliches, they don't bother me as much for some reason.

On the topic of guys looking like girls in Japanese games, which seems to bug many people - I don't really care since I'm confident in my masculinity.

HUH!!!!!! masculity!?!

I thought you were a woman!

Seriously?  I just have a chick in my avatar (a character I love very much).

Nope.  Straight male here, lol.

your very feminin.

Aka he masturbated a few tmes thinking about the mysterious girl called FinalEvangelion..

Every Generation the love for Japanese games get smaller...

If I go back to the Snes- PS one Timeperiod (yes those two generations) I had more J-games than western games.

I only had a few western games I enjoyed....Wolfenstein 3D,  Doom, Quake, Mortal Kombat,Crash/Spyro..

But that changed later on when I got an N64..played games as Banjo, Killer Instinct, Perfect dark, golden Eye, Conker...and a littlelater I got me finally a gaming pc and could play quake 3, Half Life, Counter Strike...    And from that on my time spend on J-games shrinked...
