Here’s what they need to do:
1. Release a controller with motion sensing capabilities and bundle it with the Arcade, including some tennis, golf and bowling titles (basically WiiSports). This widens to audience to anyone that finds a 'standard' controller complicated or difficult to use.
2. Secure console exclusive rights to the next MMO Blizzard game with a simultaneous release on 360 as PC – here’s looking at you StarCraft 2.
3. Start advertising XBLM HD downloads/features on TV. Creating more confusion in the HD format wars.
4. Secure more exclusives from Bioware/Epic. Although it appears they are doing this with Gears 2 and Jade Empire 2 (yeah I know only rumoured at this stage).
5. Fix the RROD!! Hopefully 65nm GPU ‘Jaspers’ will accomplish this.
6. Get Rare to make more platformers or ‘kiddy’ titles or buy another platformer developer. It appears to be the only lacking genre on the 360.
7. Buy SquareEnix and Konami!! Or at least throw enough money at them so they stop making PS exclusives. This should see greater adoption in the Japanese market.
Should they do most of these they'll secure success for this generation and the next.
