Don't see how you can even tell if an embargo is last minute ....

Plenty of games have had embargo's up until the day of release and turned out 9.XX scores so it's not really antyhing to be worried about, it's just devs wanting reviewers to play the game throughly and not rush and get a review up for the sake of hits.
