i dont understand the argument "console A was weaker than console B but it still did better, so that will always continue to happen in the future".

there are many other factors involved like how much they cost, when they were released, development issues.

and just because one system sold more it doesnt mean its better. sometimes it is, sometimes its not.

ps3 and xbox have tons more AAA games than wii, yet they have sold half the amount.

but when ps2 outsold gamecube its because it really did have better games, both first and third party.

no matter what statistics you cherry-pick, the larger picture is that consoles specifications do matter. its about having the right balance between price and power. too low power and you miss out on a lot of third party games (like wii did) and if its too costly, you miss out on a lot of sales (like ps3 did).

i think wii2 doesnt have the specs to compete in a market where consumers are increasingly wary about specifications and what the system will be able to offer in the future.

crytek recently said they want x720/ps4 to have 8gigs of ram, even if they have half of that wii2 will struggle to compete.
