DS's decline started a while before the 3DS came. It's current situation is more attributable to saturation than anything. You can see that in the practically non-existent bump the price cut gave it last year. The only current gen consoles that have anything to worry about in regards to saturation are 360 and Wii in Americas and Wii in Europe.
