I think there are very good reasons why ms dont want people scanning "items" into games...... I know teenage boys are very sensible and would never play a prank but letting them loose on scanning "items" into games could get messy and somewhat of a legal nightmare.

Well, if what you say is true, it's sad because it would be a fun feature and it's been done before. In that case I think society is becoming too paranoid and it hurts innovation. Anyway, if not scanning, it would be nice if they found nice ways to implement Kinect in other ways. I'm not saying they implement Kinect in a shitty way in every game out there, but having some nice addition that only Kinect can provide would be nice IMO.
