Everything I've seen on the SP side of this title convinces me Insomniac have taken a long, carefull look at Half Life and in particular Half Life 2. Which, as I'd argue the HL2 series is the pinacle of SP FPS campiangs, ain't a bad thing to do at all.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
