I see! sony is removing another essential and well loved feature to replace it with some undobtebly inferior product!

Unless I'm forgetting something, thus far Sony hasn't replaced anything, instead they've just removed stuff. So... That joke might not be that good after all :)

Anyway, great news if true! Don't care about the web browser that much anymore but I used to use it quite a bit.

Really? They haven't added 3D? They haven't added Netflix app? Qriocity? updated the photo software? Added Playstation Life? Online backup? Just to name a few. The only thing I can recall them taking away was the other OS. Thank Geohot for that.

DLNA functionality, upscaling DVDs and Remote Play, all added before the end of 2007.

Blu-ray profile 2.0 became functional, DivX and XviD playback was added, as were trophies, VidZone, PlayTV support and Flash support in the internet browser.

And in the last 12 months or so, we’ve seen 3D support for games added, PlayStation Plus, Facebook integration, ABC iView and support for the Move motion controller, all that was lost was the ‘Install Other OS’ option.

iPlayer, 4oD, ITV player, LoveFilm.  75% of PS3 functionality has been added since launch.

That comment about Sony not replacing anything is without doubt one of the silliest I have ever read.

OT: I never used the PS3 browser because I find it rubbish. I don't care what they use it surely can't be any worst than the current one.
