It is NOT that clear. He did not personally pirate anything, and you're not allowed to sue someone for what others have done.

 


He violated copyright and IP laws. He aided and abetted others to violated copyright and IP laws. He aided and abetted others in piracy.

Even if you want to stretch culpability to not sueing for aiding others in their criminal acts he broke laws all on his own.
