Kinda fucked up and it's a problem with society. You are willing to buy shit that gets advertised for you, or spend the money for the DVD, etc. which gives those companies revenue which always ends up in the worthless person's pocket. Meanwhile I hear people bitch about education almost non-stop. It is beyond disgraceful and it is one of the best indicators of how fucked up society is (or really, I can make a very strong point about the fallacies of capitalism).

Well the problem with professors is... almost anyone can do it... and a lot of people DO want to do it.

For whatever reason it's actually really hard to "make" a celebrity that resonates.

For every college proffessor there is another guy who got a degree to be a proffessor and didn't get hired.  Not because they weren't good enough really but just because of pure supply of people.

Well, I wouldn;t say that ANYONE can be a professor. At least not a good one. Just like ANYONE can be an actor, but that doesn't mean they won't suck.

Well not ANYONE, but it's a lot easier to be a good proffessor then it is a good actor.  While if your a GREAT proffessor.  Ironically you probably aren't teaching... you are researching.

Seeing all the talentless people becoming famous actors today (Jessica Alba), I don't know what to say about that. Plus, let's be honest, look at the top grossing movies these days (Avatar, Lord of the Rings, Toy Story 3). It's not the actors people are going to see.
