It's pretty hard to innovate with sports game since the game itself and the rule associtate with it never changes. The control must be accessible since a very large portion of the audience aren't what the industry would label as core gamers and deviating too much from your previous iteration or introduce too much complexity to the control and you risk alienating your fanabse. I'm essentially resigned to the fact that sports game simply have reach the limit of innovation. The only thing that can bring superior exprience to this genre is alternative control method.
