At the beginning it was a small website with a simple design that dealt with stats and numbers. I do believe the commonly tossed about idea of the relationship between consoles and age holds a grain of truth, so the older Nintendo fans were here first along with a few others represting different consoles- Diomedes, Monty etc. In hindsight those days were filled with a lot of postering, exaggeration and complete nonsense. We had many posters making wacky predictions, essay length posts of certain events to transpire and there seemed to be an air among posters of complete understanding of the industry and the direction it was going. (Not to say that's fully gone.) "John Lucas says: mark my words: this is sony's last hurrah in the gaming business. there will not be a ps4" Marked John. Marked. The concept of this site being a hating ground for Sony, then the troops arrived en masse is amusing. It may well be true. |
What I remember John Lucas saying is that Sony would exit the gaming industry and drop the PS3 in 2009. Well, here we are in 2011 with PS3 kicking the sales just fine.
He had quite a cult of followers, though and many thought he was a prophet. Even though just about all his predictions turned out wrong.
We do still have a few members here that think they are expert analysts, while they are really just trying to push their fanboy views. That goes for all sides of the war.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
