Least favourite genres: FPS and Survival Horror.

I played only 5 FPS in my life. Today I can claim though that one of them was one of the first FPS ever created - Catacomb Abyss, a shareware game and the sequel to id's Catacomb 3-D. Back then the term FPS didn't even exist yet if I recall correctly. The others I played were Doom, Dark Forces, Duke Nukem 3D and Unreal, so I played my last FPS about 10 years ago. DN3D is the only FPS I finished.

Never played a Survival Horror game, never will.

For once I'm glad that the majority of members on this site consider adventure a different game genre than I do, i.e. my most favourite genre (point&click adventure) is not listed and can't get any votes in this poll.

That's the main issue whenever we discuss genres, the diversity of sub-genres means that your least favorite can vary vastly, with people who maybe have never played a game like the SCUMM-types, but would otherwise love things classed as "Adventure," or like Survival Horror games, but hate other kinds of action games, which that would otherwise be classed in. With broad definitions, you can get by saying there are only 10: Action, Adventure, Shooter, Platformer, RPG, Puzzle, Fighting, Music, Sports, and Music. The problem being that Action and Adventure then end up as unrecognizable blanket genres, yet Shooter and Platformer, which are derived from action, don't get distinction there

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
