Must be nice. They could still go lower though can't they if they are making money. Where do you watch movies?

I usually pay 7 for regular and I think its like 10-15 for 3d. I dont really go to the movies though.

http://www.natoonline.org/statisticstickets.htm

Average ticket price in the us for 2009 was $7.50

Well, the price reflects the theater. It doesn't have 3d, and it's quite a mess(if something falls on the floor you are better off leaving it there...) And it was actually $2 till just recently. People were actually quite outraged that it went up to 3. They put the much nicer theater out of business a couple months ago( I guess people would rather pay $2 for a crappy theater than $5 for a nice one...)

I live in Carolina btw. So no 3rd world country here :-p

Yea checked your profile for living in the US. We have a theatre like that by us too. But they only play old releases. But not just ticket prices,l but entertainment in general. Its getting cheaper now though with DD. I think the same thing that is going on in music will happen to visual entertainment too. Costs will go down for consumers, we will get less huge/massive stars taking all the money and it will instead be spread around more stars that are less famous. To me that is a more preferable model.
