They also added the extra sink and used screws to bolt down the mobo. Mobo warping was one of the main causes of RRoD.

But you're right, time will tell if it worked or not though so far, so good. With the old design, some units were failing within hours or days of purchase. We haven't been hearing those kinds of stories for months now.
