I realized that it is my least favorite genre. They are so boring to me. I mean, a good game is a good game. But i tried out LBP2 and i just got bored ( I HAVE PLAYED OTHER 2D PLATFORMERS). Good thing for the crazy creations. But now i get why i really don't see the hype about Donkey Kong or Mario games, they bore me! I mean the whole game is revolved around jumping and MAYBE using some powers, but its something i can do in other games!
Like inFAMOUS for example. Yeah, its a sanbox game, but the platforming is a PART of it and just adds to the experience. It isn't the whole EXPERIENCE. I can see the love for the level design in 2D platformers, but i don't love games for thier graphics or level design. And jumping around just isn't fun for me. Games like Contra do 2D platforming better, because its like a shooter and you have to shoot shit up and dodge. But 2D platformers where you just jump and jump are really boring to me.
So what do you think of my opinion?
