why are Sony trying to prevent the details of its security flaws becoming public?? - because people will abuse that for piracy.

theres nothing wrong with people doing what they want in their own home - but people like Geohotz are distributing that information and that information supports piracy.

now your also forgetting that developers have intellectual property rights. Sony publish titles from a range of 3rd and 1st party developers. the livelhoods of those developers depend on honest sales of their products.

people like Anon are saying they have rights to do what they want - fair enough. but what their doing also affects the rights of developers livelyhoods and now the rights of customers over the PSN, etc.

Sony are protecting their interests and the gaming industry. if Anon dont like it, then they dont have to invest in Sony products neither did Geohotz, but he did and he distributed that security information to become popular and famous, what he done affects the lives of honest people who work very hard in a very competitive industry.
