The thing is, to stick to the main storyline theyve got to make the characters Desmonds ancestors. Having characters all over the place might get a bit implausible.

That said, I dont think you can say for certain Altair and Ezio are related (one could be his father's ancestor, the other his mothers ancestor). Few people seem to have picked that up.

You do know that a lot of southern italians are of middle eastern descent right? Thats why a lot of southern italians have darker features. Around the height of the roman empire there were tons of Arab slaves in the country. His Italian and Middle eastern descent could plausibly be from one parent. I for one thought the next Assassins Creed would be in America during the modern day. I cannot see how Desmond will make it through the next game alive or at least mentally stable. His descent could be all over the place. The name miles is a English name. We haven't even found out about his English side yet. If some people were bored with the old Italian storyline, get ready to be bored with an English one.

Altair lived after the times of the Roman empire's peak so although Id say you have a fair point, the timeline is a bit out of sync. His ancestors are gradually working their way westward, so that probably why the French Revolution seems plausible.

I doubt the English side would be boring. Id say most likely setting for an English ancestor would be the American Civil War or the Great Depression.
