I am fairly certain Asian nations like China, Japan, etc are not traditionally religious nations. They have their own spiritual belief systems or Atheism/Agnostics. Free from religious superstitution and paranoia.
The differences between the three main Abrahamic religions: Christianity, Islam and Islam have resulted in widespread world wide conflicts, religious and political wars that will never end.
Charity groups that are not influenced by religious affiliations and helping people out of the goodness of their heart and assisting people get back on their fate would be seen as helping people more than religious superstitution, paranoia brainwashing.
Religion can be poisonous and we have heard of the countless Holy religious wars and crimes committed by religious groups and the damage cults/religion can do to people's lives.
Most wars have been fought based on religious differences.
