Good for them, they took down some websites. What about the PSN? Which I presume do not run on the same servers as a couple of websites.

Anonymous had a nice idea with the Wikileaks thing, supporting Freedom of Speech, this just seems more like supporting hacking and piracy.

Its not about piracy. I believe you are misinformed. Its because Sony is sueing Geohotz and making it seem like Geohotz is responsible for piracy when he had nothing to do with it. I suggest you do research on the situation.

Really?

What he did eventually led to MORE piracy but he did not hack the PS3 for people to play pirated games. Someone else used the code and made back up launchers for pirated games. The lawyers want to make it seem like its his fault when in reality there were pirates on the PS3 long before he hacked it.

That's not "having nothing to do with it."

Yes it is.

You don't charge gun manufacturers with crimes when people are shot.

You also don't give out guns to any random person, show them how to use those guns and then slink away when someone gets shot.

Ok fine.

You don't charge kitchen knife manufactuerers when people stab other people to death with their knives.

you dont? check out these easy to find links on google

How to use a gun:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how to use a gun&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

How to build a gun/weapon:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how to build your own gun&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

How to build a bomb:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how to build your own bomb&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

But telling people how to access their own property is so wrong and hurts so many people and must be stopped now. Oh please.

Edit: sorry qouted wrong person. My response was to doobie

Yeah, i mean people DO do that.  People sell semi automatic rifles to people, along with an automatic conversion kit that turns the semi-automatic rifle into an automatic rifle.  Though gun sales usually do require background checks, hence why I changed it.

I mean, it's legal to teach people how to build a NUCLEAR bomb, but it's supposed to be illegal for some guy to learn how to setup his PS3 so he can run linux?

Interestingly, sony is on the lookout in the case they're being sued in for any proof that people who used linux used it for servers.  Further goes to support the claim that the reason Sony removed linux was because nobody was buying the expesive Cell blade servers because a cluster of PS3's got things done waaaay cheaper.

Though I guess it is a good point.

Really sony are the ones who sold the gun.
