Haha, this is this post in a nut shell

"Console owners are all dickheads. Believe it or not, this hobby's about having fun – not raining on other people's parades. Let's not lose sight of that fact. Console owners are all dickheads.

Harden the hell up, and deal with the fact that console gaming is required in order for PC gaming to exist outside of facebook.

The way PC games were made was fine back in the day when game development costs were low. Then they started increasing, but game developers were ok because they could make a truckload of cash on consoles. 1# Console games funded your ability to have cutting edge graphics. Now, consoles are getting more expensive to develop for and so the developers can't use them as a source of infinite money anymore. 2# This means that PC developers have to cut costs somewhere or go bankrupt.

Lets say you have a rich friend, he gives you $10 every day to buy cool stuff with, then one day he gets robbed, and tells you he can't give you money anymore. The polite person would say "That's ok, infact, I'll try to give a little back if I can" You, however, fly off the handle and blame him because you can't afford the shit you were going to buy with the money he was to give you.

1# what? you have got to be kidding me PC exclusives have pushing the boundaries in graphics since the days of Doom and most of the PC games with truly cutting edge graphics are from PC exclusives or at least have PC as the lead platform (Crysis, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., metro 2033 the Witcher 2, Battlefield 3etc) if anything consoles only have the graphics they do because of PC gaming as the GPUs that power the consoles were based on designs developed for the PC and many of the engines and techniques used were pioneered on PC. It is only this generation where PC advancement has slown down that consoles have come anywhere near PC games.

2# The entire industry has to cut costs or go bankrupt TBH as AAA game budgets on all platforms are growing much faster than the audience so only the most successful developers and those payed by platform holders can afford to be exclusive. Yet there are more PC exclusive games being made than console exclusives (overall not AAA) despite not having a big company like Sony of Microsoft paying for development.

and your last paragraph doesn't make any sense.

1) Console gaming also benefits from PC gaming, as you stated the bleeding edge graphics of PC get taken up by console developers years later, but those bleeding edge graphics wouldn't be commercially sustainable for the majority of devs if it werent for the revenue from console games. Gaing for everyone,

2) So you agree that all of the changes that were presented as being the fault of console gamers in the OP are actually a result of the fact that cost of development is growing more rapidly than userbases can? Cool

Last paragraph. It makes perfect sense, I'll go into it in a bit more detail.

Lets say you have a rich friend. For argument's sake we shall call this friend Console Gaming. Console Gaming gives you $10 every day to buy cool stuff, such as bleeding edge graphics, with. Then, one day he gets robbed and loses his ability to continue to provide financial aid. He then tells you he can't give you money anymore. The polite person (Me) would say "That's ok, infact, I'll try to give a little back if I can" You, however, fly off the handle and blame him (Such as by creating threads with titles such as  '12 ways console games are hurting PC gaming') because you can't afford the shit you were going to buy with the money he was to give you.

Still not making sense to you? Console gaming has been keeping PC gaming alive for quite some time, and now it is losing its ability to do so. That is not the same as console gaming hurting PC gaming.
