I had hoped for something like Anno 1860 (schooners/clippers/steamships) or 750 A.C. (Mediterranean Sea), but for some reason "Quersumme = 9" is still a mantra for the guys at Related Design.
I wouldn't be surprised if they had meetings debating Anno 2070, Anno 2106 and Anno 2205.
The 2nd pic looks how I'd imagine SimCity 2050 if EA still cared about the franchise. All 4 screenshots look a bit uninspired to me.
I guess it's easier to create beauty out of historical settings than out of your mind.
I will probably get it anyway as I love the franchise.
