  • The PS3 browser:  It was great like the Wii browser, initially.  It's in dire need of an update.  I used to use both browsers a lot but now, even sites like VGChartz don't work on it.  Try going to last.fm on it.  It won't run the content.  Try going to youtube.  It will take you to "youtube XL" (aka the mobile version of youtube).
  • to be fair, you force it to go to the real youtube.
  • On Xbox Live, multiple accounts can log in at once.  If I'm playing two player split screen RE5, both of us can log in, get achievements, message our friends, etc.  On the PS3 (with the exception of Little Big Planet), I haven't been able to do that--and even then, I'm not logged in.  It just gives me my trophies when I DO log in later.  My PSN friends don't know I'm online.  I can't access my friends list.  Nothing.  I'm just a guest in somebody else's (usually, my daughter) profile. I play split screen a lot.
  • that is a cool feature. but games like resistance 2 allows you to play online co-op with 2 profiles. also (I dont know if you can also do this on xbl) on psn you can create tons of accounts on your ps3 for free, then you can puts any of those accounts on another ps3, and get on the dlc, and add-ons you have. also you can download you games multiple times to any ps3.
  • Patches.  Be honest, PSN users.  Patches are a bitch.  Blame it on internet connection or whatever.  My 360 is sitting six inches away from my PS3.  Updates to PS3 games take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of hours.  360 updates take anywhere from a few seconds to several seconds.  The only time it's taken minutes is when the whole entire dashboard got upgraded.  For this reason alone, I've NEVER played Uncharted 2 and MGS4 online.  I just couldn't wait that long.  When I got LBP GotY Edition, it took HOURS before we could play it.  Same goes for my nephew.  He got Smackdown, Madden, and NBA2K11 for Christmas.  I wanted to help him get the free DLC that came with Smackdown.  We spent half the day updating his console and games.  Tell me this is just us.  This NEVER happens on XBL.
  • yes some, but not most take a long time, but that still has to do with how much data is being dowloaded. if you couldnt get on Uncharted online, you must have joined really realy late because uncharted has no install. but it did have several patches and updates since luamch i believe 9 to be exact. so it could of been a substantial amount of data that wasnt downloaded. becuase right now its on v 1.09.
  • also (i must of deleted your comment) you said you can download stuff whie xbox is off, which you can do with psn plus. well, when you are downloading things from psn store, you can select turn off console after download is complete, so that seems like basically the same thing. also with plus, you can select it to download and update you console and all its games automatically, and any time (presumably at times you wont be awake or playing)
  • Every single game on Xbox 360 has Achievements.  There's games (like MGS4) for PS3 that don't have trophies.  For that reason, I don't bother with trophies at all.  It just seems like it isn't accurate.

That's it.  I think everything I posted is true. If you see something wrong, tell me and I'll try it on my PS3 (ID: d21lewis).  If I made a mistake somewhere, I'll gladly apologize for it and correct it.  Like I said, both my PS3 and 360 are turned on right now.  I didn't type anything I didn't see.  I don't have PSN , though.

im confused by you statement that i bolded.

but thanks d21lewis. i learned a lot about xbl from you, i still cant say that the stuff you mentioned makes it worth $60 a year, both services are to much the same for me for it to be worth paying, especially when psn is getting Steam

Don't do this.

1.  You force it to go to the real youtube and you can't search videos.  It won't let you press enter.

2.  You can make multiple accounts on one 360.  I can take my memory card to another 360 and play all of my purchased content online.  If I don't have my flash drive, I can recover my ID on any 360 via the internet.  Any new account made gets one month of free Gold Membership.  And while I don't have Resistance, I know from experience that Little Big Planet will let me log in as me but when I press the guide button, none of my stuff is there.  When I do finally play as my real profile, all of the stuff I did as player 2 in someone else's profile loads up.  Basically, is saves my info and ports it later.

3.  Doesn't disprove my statement.  I've downloaded the demo of Star Wars the Force Unleashed on both consoles at the same time.  The PSN version actually downloaded a few seconds faster but after the download, I had to install on the PS3.  The difference was negligable.  Their download speeds are about the same.  PSN's patch speeds are atrocious at times.

4.  Yeah, you can select "turn off console after content is downloaded" but the console is still on!!  Not the same.

5.  I typed that I don't have PSN Plus.  There's a glitch on this site that won't let me type a plus sign.  I'm gonna type five plus signs right now and see if they show up: <<They should be right there.

The difference between PSN and 360 was much bigger a few years ago.  PSN has come a long way.  I can respect that.  And the biggest plus is that PSN is free.  I just think that Live is worth it and that Live is better.  I don't fault anybody for thinking otherwise.  It just comes down to wheter you think Live is $60 better or not.  Both consoles serve their audience very well.
