I dunno if I would trust that source. However seeing as Apple and Nintendo pretty much see each other as competitors I wouldn't put it past Apple to copy Nintendo and bring 3D to their I-line up. Infact I predicted this in a thread last year after E3 saying that Phones and other devices would follow Nintendo's lead pretty fast and that 3D could become standard thanks in part to Nintendo.
I'm actually sort of suprised Sony didn't launch 3D PSP, but again they had a year to copy Nintendo and the technology probably wasn't their yet. Where as Apple has two plus years not to mention they know if they make their next I-Pad 3D every I-Pad owner is going to upgrade as soon as possible meaning much higher sales for Apple!
