Unfortunately, since it doesn't have an Intel chip in it, it can't run FF4. He also was working on a website for a client that ended up being mad because the site wasn't tested in IE which still a majority of users use. I dabble (and mean DABBLE) in web development and think the add-ons in FF are great ..... for that. Outside of web development, the big 3 browers all have strengths and weaknesses that, in the end, aren't really dealbreakers for any of them. I'm typing this in Chrome because its the fastest on my aging P4 XP PC. FF4 runs better than FF 3.6 for sure, but not Chrome fast. Can't run IE9 at all due to XP and IE8 is as slow as FF 3.6 was for me. I've never even tried Safari or Opera, though many swear by the latter. The point? Being a browser fanboy or refusing to see that the field is becoming more competitive and balanced than ever before is just ridiculously immature. I've used IE9 and FF4 and think the enhancements of both (especially IE9) are fantastic. For your average user (which would include 90% of computer users), any of them is finally a great choice ... if your computer can handle them. |
Most people use what they can. I use IE9 on my gaming pc, FF4 on my server/downloads PC and Chrome at work. Chrome is awesome, and was pretty much the only choice at work as it installs without admin rights. My whole company uses IE8 and I have to get special premissions to install FF or IE9...but not Chrome as it installs fine if you're not admin.
I like all 3 browsers and if I'd have to rate them according to my needs I'd say Chrome > IE9 > FF4
But Im cool with all 3...just can't stand people who don't have a clue and are posting nonsence like "IE blows"...sure if you have IE7.
