X-Factor attracts a younger average audience than Strictly because of the age of the 'stars' on each. Neither is better, the talented people on both are worth watching.

X-Factor has more scripted drama between judges and contestants, and more (effectively) product placement which interferes with the show. I don't like either.

I'm not surprised you're not managing to get him. He was saying that Dancing has a attractive women, which is in itself a rerason to watch it.
