1. It is contracted to be staged in Melbourne until 2015. 2. It cost taxpayers about $50 million much of which is made back in tourism and local business'. 3. The reason it costs that amount has nothing at all to do with not being a night race. It's because it's a temporary track and every stand and barrier has to be erected and pulled down every year. |
nope it costed tax papers last year in 70 million in loses, that is loses which came out of the pocket of local people. By contacted is that no one but Melbourne can have the event until 2015, for example F1 cant turn around an go umm we will give it to someone else this year. Doesn't mean Victorian government cant just stop the event and not host it (that is the current debate while the F1 is on, whether or not to keep it or get rid of it).
and the reason there is alot of loses isn't the stands having to be put up (that is an big cost) but the ratings aren't big i Europe because of time difference so the event struggles to get major global sponsers because the Global audience aren't watching in mass compared to other F1 events.
The solutions are to build lights on the track and host it at night, costing money on top of the debt being caued by the event so it can be held at an later time and gain more european auidence. (hopefully the F1 gets in and funds that) because if we are to get rid of it then it wil go to the middle east and it will be an race with no one watching it at the event and an tv event). or move it to an new track outside of melbourne which will most likely get an less of an crowd due to its location. Or not have it at all, and spend the 10s of millions of debt being caused on funding more police we desperatly need
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
