He probably doesn't want to spend over $200 on a 120-128 GB SSD and frankly, with all the installs, demos, DLC, etc. even a cheaper 80 GB SSD would be extremely pinched unless you were in the habit of regularly deleting content (installs, PSN purchases, demos) that wasn't currently being used.
But sure; if money is no object, you can't beat SSDs for internal storage whether it's in a PS3, a laptop, a desktop or anywhere. Arguably the single best upgrade for almost any system.
