The features listed in the opening post of this thread are just a small portion of the customization options PS3MFW offers, only the new stuff that was added to v0.2; check out the readme file for all tasks. There are dozens of options.
And once you have installed an MFW you can for instance run Showtime, a homebrew video player that can play MKV video files, something that PS3 owners asked for for years, but Sony always ignored.
