Came in this post late.
I believe Gaddafi is going to stay in power. From what I have garnered from NPR, DemocracyNow!, and other news sources Gaddafi has 6 billion in gold reserves to pay his mercenary army, a mercenary army who awaits nothing but death by horrible means if he falls, children who have no money abroad due to his assets being seized, and the patience to wait the no-fly zone out.
Whoever the rebels are, I believe they do not have the organization, tactical military minds, nor arms to win this without boots on the ground sanctioned by the UN.
Gaddafi will stay in power because France does not have the balls to put troops on the ground, Germany has already shown it has been castrated, and the UK like the USA has too much public debt to involve itself in another war after Iraq and Afghanistan.
