No. Its actually about how it controls and feels. I have yet to find any game that feels like halo as far as combat goes/multiplayer. All other shooters seem to compete with CoD. |
This is because pretty much every game out there is more focused on the mechanics and realism of shooting a gun rather than fun factor and gameplay that is derived from gunplay.
Im not saying other games are not fun as they obiously are. But you can tell Halo focused really hard on centering gunplay around making sure control, balance and user experience is fun. They did not put much effort in to things like...is this how a soldier holds his gun in real life?...does it look badass?...is the recoil realistic?...etc.
Even though similar, Crysis games can't compare with Halo as they try to pass the fictional, sci fi experience and relate it to the real world mechanics, situations and events. Its just another game with Army dudes, and realistic guns (for the most part) and a bunch of aliens invading. Halo created a whole new universe around itself, from the story to the gameplay mechanics which are completely unique to the series... hence why nothing can "beat it at its own game"...except maybe Halflife if Valve even bothered to make another :)
