It's a decent OS, I was happy with XP, but I don't regret upgrading. Of course, out of the box I didn't like much about it, but with a few tweaks I got it running to my liking, like adding back the Quick Launch bar (seriously, MS, how dare you take away one of the best features of XP). Sucks that some of the upgraded applications aren't up to par (I despise any app that uses ribbons, I mean, it's bad enough that the horrible Office 2007 uses it...now Paint too? What's next, Notepad?).

I have to give it to it, it's infinite times better than the disastrous Vista, I had it for just one day (when trying to upgrade from XP to W7 without formatting the PC) and it gave me every problem imaginable to mankind, I couldn't upgrade to W7 because I needed SP1, I couldn't update to SP1 'cause I needed an addon, and I couldn't install that addon no matter how much I tried. I ended up formatting the PC -_-. Seriously, I never thought I'd see a crappier OS than Windows 98, but Vista proved me wrong, so W7 is as much a massive improvement over Vista as XP was over 98 (I know, 98 and XP weren't consecutive, but they were for me).

It isn't as slick and usable as Ubuntu/Kubuntu, I'd much rather use those, but given I can't play games on Linux, I really can't complain much because it's not like W7 is a pain to use or anything like that
