To be fair, while Apple's laptop/desktop update schedules have been extremely erratic, their iPod/iPhone/iPad update schedules are anything but. For the last few years, new iPhones have always come in June and new iPods in September. So there was every reason to believe the iPad 2 would come in April, one year after its predecessor. It turned up only one month early.
