Couldn't agree more. There a lot of games whom've my opinion of changed after re-playing more than once. Metro 2033 is the best example, I've played it for a couple of hours and then stopped. I got bored of it and wrote it off as some medicore shooter. Skip to a couple of months later were I decided to give it a second chance and surprisingly I absolutely loved it and consider it one of my favorite games this gen.
Like you said, replaybility definitely help story-driven games like Metro 2033, Half-Life 2, Bioshock, Mass Effect and the Silent Hill Series shine because you begin to pick up story details that you might have missed on your first walkthrough and immerses you more to their worlds.
