Maybe he is slow because his long range and overpower moves.

I don't know but I'm not buying the game for my PS3 because of Kratos but because I like the Dpad better than the 360. I will use Kratos just to try him out but I can already tell he won't be one of the best characters. If the 360 gets Master Chief then I may be forced to buy that version too. Damn you Mortal Kombat!
