Americans easily freaked out?

I find it sort of funny, but the case in which the media is pushing it. I live In BC and Vancouver is the closest your gonna get to the radiation in Canada and our media isn't really freaking out. This.  And the media profits off of these people.  I also think it has alot to do with education level (less educated people are more gullible).

Now the media has most of the attention focused on the radiation aspect in Japan because it is more interesting than the real problem - people dying from the Tsunami and quake itself.  Also, the fact that people aren't getting enough food and water in shelters.

In reality, you are more likely going to die from gettin run over by a car.  However, that is less interesting than radiation.

As I said I haven't seen my local or national media reporting on radiation reaching NA. They reported on all the morons buying iodine pills but very little on actual radiation reaching here.

I did watch a story on Fox about radiation reaching California, Oregon and Washington. I thought that was pretty funny. But I don't watch Fox or CNN that much these days, are they really reporting this stuff and trying to convince people that radiation could reach them?

If they are, that is another reason I hate watching CNN and FOX for news. They are always biased and unreliable. Its far better to watch CBC, BBC, Al-Jazeera etc...etc... Or go online and read Reutors or Associated Press. Fox and CNN are often full of crap.

Are they seriously reporting those kinds of lies? (Radiation could reach US west coast)
