Yes and some other peoples. Guides are one of those things I have never understood. Sure from time to time I get stuck and I could easily use a guide online or not. But, whats the fun in that? It takes away the joy of coming across say a hidden useable player such as Yuffie/Moggle/GoGo/Umaro and so on. I was on my third playthrough of ff7 before I got Yuffie. I dont recall about GoGo and Umaro, but i know it was nowhere near the 1st time. I think it adds to the replayablity and prolongs the time you spend playing a game. With a guide I could have easily done and found everything during the first play through. That takes away so much joy for me. Its like a cheat sheet for a test you actually want to take.
I will say I love world Maps and think they should be used to create hype in JRPG's. Not showing where everything is, just the world.
