I've been saying the same thing since early 2007:
By the time the PS3 catches the 360, no one will care except frothing fanboys. What matters is THE MONEY and Microsoft is handily beating Sony in that regard and Nintendo is whalloping them both.
No matter what happens from here on out, these three truths are evident to anyone rational:
- The PS3 has been a monumental failure. The division went from being Sony's primary money-maker to its loss leader in one generation.
- The 360 is a vast improvement over the Xbox but MS botched so many things that it's a shadow of what it could have been for the division from a financial standpoint (here's looking at you, RRoD).
- Nintendo is as giddy as a schoolgirl with a crush as they roll around in their billions of dollars.
