My brain exploded, too.  Maybe Alan Wake was the first game he gave a 10/10 to and then the second game that earned a 10/10 was slightly better?

Both statistically 10/10, but Alan Wake was the first to be exactly 10/10.

Ergo, there exist a second game this gen that got 10/10 from him, it came out AFTER Alan Wake (hence alan wake got the first 10/10) but has now taken the spot of his favourite game this gen. Simple :P
