But what exactly are you talking about? The only thing I've really seen that's impressive is the lighting and even then there are other titles that have comparable (if not better) lighting. The amount on-screen isn't even anything mind blowing, it just looks really good.

Everything. From physics on all objects, to Full realtime Global Illumination. Realtime bullet tracking, ( bouncing of a concrete block and changing direction ) to multiple light sources. Crytek stated on stage at E3 last year if you remember quite openly: I think the quote went something like this

" unlike other console engines this gen, we are doing everything in realtime. No smoke and mirrors. Everything you see is fully realtime. "

No developer to this day has challenged Crytek on this matter at all.
