Please get SOCOM 4.
I've been a fan of the series since the first, and it is great. To me, it is the best shooter series that Sony has. The Single and multiplayer are very immersive. It has a niche fanbase who really love it and can help you out in multiplayer. If you ever take my advice, do it here. This game will be worth it.
EDIT: Although, I'd get Apocolypse at some point. Pacific Rift was amazing, one of the best racers I've ever played.
