Our main stories are about the clean up, the nuclear plant and foreigners leaving Japan. Nothing really about the people other then the evacuation from the area. Which is a sad thing. Not sure I've heard anyone here mention fears over radition reaching Europe though. That's a bit far fetched.

I haven't heard of inability to farm, but I heard only last year of some sheep in Dorset being considered 'unfit for human consumption' due to the contamination from Chernobyl.
