I'll wait for the iSuppli parts/manufacturing cost breakdowns, but I'm willing to bet it will be under $300 (for the 3G model), given the price of the iPad 2.
According to iSuppli, a 32GB iPad 2 GSM model (AT&T 3G) carries a BOM of $326.60.
Let that sink in before loudly declaring SCE "will lose their shirts" by selling them for under $349; with the above estimate, you'd sound foolish.
While a $249 price for the 16GB/WiFi model seems unlikely, it's not implausible either; no one knows what type of deal SCE has made on their volume parts orders with the only real unknowns being the A9 CPU and the SGX GPU.
$299 entry price; still most likely. But if they want to go $249/$349 for their two SKUs, things will get a lot more interesting.
