I don't follow a religion because I reject the claim that theists make about god/gods because I find the philosophical arguments weak, theres not credible evidence, science has explained many natural phenomena without the need for a supernatural or godly component and many of the books and accounts of many religions are flawed and have been manipulated or are inspired by prior religions whose holy texts are flawed and manipulated.
Hence I'm an atheist whose position on the argument is negative towards the claims theists make. Simple as that.
EDIT - The usual Agnosticism silliness presents itself again. Being an Agnostic is statement of knowledge not belief. You can be an agnostic atheist and have no contradiction logically at all. Theres nothing wrong with rejecting a positive claim by someone else because the philosophical arguments are weak and the evidence is lacking and claiming not to know that God does or doesn't exist because you're simply rejecting the claim by theists. You don't have to prove the negative and to claim a negative position doesn't mean you claim to know either. As I said, no contradiction at all.
