1) You still didn't answer the first question: why did we suddenly change this to exclusives
Exclusives help define a console and distinguishes it from the other consoles. The wii has motion controls unlike the other two, yes but exclusives are where the meat of the harvest lies.
2) The PS3 certainly does have something to do with it. If we were to agree that third party sales are poor on the Wii (which we don't necessarily agree on), the fact that third party sales are even worse on the PS3 is a fairly relevant consideration. It would mean that despite (supposedly) poor sales of third party games on the Wii, the PS3 is even worse for third parties, and thus deserves the support even less.
The PS3's "meat of the harvest" will be later this year, so until those games release this really isn't a relevant issue right now. The PS3 side of this argument
