Yes, years ago I tried it because they started releasing the latest HL patches exclusively through it and it was so horrible I uninstalled it and never tried it again after I completed HL, Opposing Force and Blue Shift. I could never join an online match of Counter-Strike, it often hanged, it took forever to update itself and it slowed my PC. I know that now it's a lot better and I give it due credits for this and wish it good luck for being a good and welcome alternative to its competitors, but I still got to persuade myself to give it another try, in the meantime I picked from my backlog games that didn't need it.

just log on for steam sales.... you'll understand why many overlook the burden that it is ^^ (there is one for every major holiday period)
