And despite being 4 million AFL is the 3rd most attended sport for an country with 20 million. And to ontop of that we have our own basketball and soccer competitions, we host an major grand slam in tennis, we love cycling and swimming and when the afl season is over cricket starts which is an global event. And Melbourne is home to the MCG and statidum that holds 100,000 and is massive. The MCG is also located next to the tennis grandslam area with 2 areanas and has newly built soccer/rugby stadium and an bit further away we have etihad statidum with holds 50,000. Oh and i almost forgot about horse racing and that we host one of the most prestigest horse races The Melbourne Cup which is massive. So you can say we are sport mad here in Melbourne. We love sport and on an side note we love to bet on it and gamble with Victoria having more problem gamblers per 1000 people than Los Vegas. An we have only one casino. |
